From 2002 to Now: Why I Started SurfToSnow.com

If you are reading this, you are probably like me: You have a job, you pay for your own gear, and you spend all your free time chasing the next ride – whether that’s on a snowboard or a surfboard or any other type of board that gives you that unexplainable floating feeling that gives you tingles whenever you think about it.

I started this site because I was tired of gear reviews written by pros who get everything for free. I wanted to build a place for the Intermediate Weekend Warriors – the riders who crash, who learn, and who need to know if a €500 board is actually worth the money.

What to expect from this blog:

  • Honest Gear Reviews: I only review what I actually use. (Check out my first review of the [Bataleon FunKink here]).
  • Real Travel Guides: From the tiny hills of Latvia to the powder paradise of Japan, I’ll share the costs, the conditions, and the mistakes to avoid.
  • The Struggle: I’m not a pro. I’m learning. I’ll share my progression tips so you can learn faster too.

I have a fun backstory involving a “house arrest” at age 11 that started my love for snowboarding, but I won’t bore you with it here.

See you on the slopes (or in the cold water).
